Ben: San Juan La Laguna, Solola, Guatemala; So, it didn't take long for me to figure out that I suffered from an acute case of locational ADD and a passionate love for a good climb (not altogether unrelated). So, after high school I flew the coup making stops all across Europe before landing in Latin America as a freelance journalist. Simultaneously, frustrated and inspired by what he saw there I returned home to complete a degree in Latin American Studies and International Relations. But needing to feed my addiction, I conducted much of my academic work outside the confines of the classroom in Argentina, Ghana, Guatemala and Kenya. There in a Nairobi hostel I ran into Operation Groundswell. Now, having served three years as their Guatemala Trip-Leader followed by one term as the University of Toronto's Safety Abroad Officer I'm back in Guatemala developing special programming, managing OG’s place based operations, the Hub, and feeding my addictions.
